Chapter 7: Sustaining the Intervention

This chapter covers communication, fundraising, and evaluation—three important areas for sustaining an intervention. First, it discusses communication strategies and methods for information dissemination, including: message development and initiating and maintaining media relationships. It then addresses issues of resource development, including fundraising, redeploying resources and creating a budget. Finally, it provides an overview of evaluation, including process and outcome evaluations, and offers guidance for determining the scope of an evaluation given factors such as program maturity and available resources. Worksheets on communication, fundraising, and evaluation are provided.
