Health Futures of Youth II
NAHIC, with support from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, convened a national invitational conference in September, 1998 to explore the health needs of adolescents. The conference brought together professionals from a wide range of disciplines and provided a unique opportunity to discuss critical issues in adolescent health and potential strategies for addressing them. Six work groups convened to discuss a variety of topics, from healthy adolescent development to increasing the capacity of families, schools and communities in improving adolescent health outcomes. The work groups produced papers reporting on their findings, which were published in a special supplement to the Journal of Adolescent Health (Volume 31, Issue 6, Supplement, December 2002).
