Health of California’s Adolescents: Findings from the 2001 California Health Interview Survey (2004)
In collaboration with the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, NAHIC has developed a public health profile of California adolescents ages 12-17 years. The report is based on data from the 2001 California Health Interview Survey. Topics covered in the report include: adult supervision and parental monitoring; adherence to safety standards; diet and physical activity; tobacco, alcohol and marijuana use; and sexual activity, including pregnancy and disease prevention. Many of the findings are shown by gender, age, income and race/ethnicity. This publication provides data that will be of interest to public health professionals who work with adolescents, educators, and parents.
