Meaningful Social Roles Among Young Adolescents (Ballard P, PhD, Wake Forest U; Hoyt LT, PhD, Fordham U)
Drs. Ballard and Hoyt piloted an assessment tool for assessing meaningful social roles and examining correlations between meaningful social roles, health risk taking behaviors, and mental health, as well as moderation by self-reported pubertal timing. Based on this work, they are presenting a workshop abstract and have submitted a manuscript to a peer-review journal. This work is part of a larger project to develop a valid and reliable measure of meaningful social roles that can be used in research on adolescence, including risky behaviors and positive well-being.
