Parent-focused educational materials to prevent opioid abuse (S. Harris, PhD, BCH/HU)
Led by Sion Harris at BCU/HU, the AYAH-RN developed website teaching materials to engage parents in helping prevent opioid abuse. Specifically, the project built on existing parent education website materials developed by BCU/HU that address other substance abuse issues.
The new module provides parents with the latest science on opioids and their effects and risks (particularly for the developing adolescent brain), abuse warning signs, tips for prevention of misuse, and links to additional information resources.
