Adolescent Receipt of Time Alone Remains Low, Despite Longstanding Recommendations.

The Adolescent and Young Adult Health National Resource Center is excited to share findings from a new article investigating adolescent time-alone with a clinician.

The article, published online in the Journal of Adolescent Health in July 2020, uses data from two national surveys, the research examined adolescents’ receipt of time alone in 2016-2017.

Findings, summarized in the infographic below, demonstrate the need for continued action to increase delivery of time alone to adolescents.  Ongoing monitoring of time alone is needed to assess progress on this critical component of adolescent health care.
